Waitlists
Welcome!
Below you’ll find the open waitlists for all communities across our portfolio in one convenient place.
At Walters Apartments, we operate from a waitlist model. A waitlist is a list we maintain for households who are preliminarily qualified for an apartment but cannot be immediately placed due to limited availability.
Note: Apply to/being on a waitlist does not guarantee housing, it means you’re in line for a chance when something opens up.
Waitlist FAQs
What is a waitlist?
An affordable housing waitlist is a list maintained by a housing agency or property management company for households who are preliminarily qualified for affordable housing but cannot be immediately placed due to limited availability. Being on a waitlist does not guarantee housing, it means you’re in line for a chance when something opens up.
Where am I on the waitlist?
Our leasing offices can confirm whether or not your name is currently on a property’s waitlist; however, we are unable to provide your specific position on the waitlist or predict when a unit that meets your household’s needs will become available. This is because unit availability depends on a variety of factors, including current resident move-outs, unit turnover time, and matching available units to applicants’ eligibility requirements. While we understand the desire for more precise information, this process ensures that units are offered fairly and in accordance with program guidelines.
How do I join a waitlist?
To join a community waitlist, applicants must complete and submit a preliminary application to the property they are interested in. Each property maintains its own separate waitlist; therefore, if you wish to be considered for more than one location, a separate preliminary application must be completed and submitted for each property. Applications are processed in the order they are received and in accordance with our eligibility and qualification requirements. Submitting a preliminary application does not guarantee housing but ensures you will be contacted when a unit becomes available based on your position on the waitlist.
